Here at the Sanlez Mill on the 11th of January, the  2nd Battalion of the 357th attacked surprising and capturing 65 prisoners of the 5th Paratroop Division This turned out to be a Regimental Command Post yielding a treasure trove of numerous high-value intel documents. Continuing on at 1430, 

 

Eventually,  Sonlez was entered at 2200 capturing several hundred more German prisoners.  On the 12th of January at  11:30 Sonlez was finally liberated indefinitely.

It has been said that within the last few years, numerous weapons, equipment, and even well-preserved uniforms of these prisoners were found and recovered.
