Although not directly connected to every aspect of the battle, these old houses stand witness to some fierce fighting and dying in their walls, and share tragedy with their families and neighborhoods. Not built to stand forever and not up to the times of change, these monuments to time will soon disappear along with the people who built and lived in them.
